It was a quieter weekend at Horning Sailing Club, with everyone still recovering from Regatta Week! Saturday afternoon saw the Sundown informal racing series continue, and on Sunday a Down River race to Thurne took place in a pleasant breeze. In the keelboat class both legs were won by Geoff Stubbs sailing Yeoman Tara, and in the Cruiser class one Peter Goshawk sailing Grayling and George Brewis in Amantani won one leg each respectively. Meanwhile, on the river, racing took place for dinghies in an increasing breeze. Racing was close, with James Street and William Woolston winning two races in an RS Feva, Zia Gittins winning two races in a Topper, and Anya Gittins winning another, also sailing a Topper. In the second fleet, Tilly Coston, Edward Street and Julian Mander each won at least one race – all sailing very well in the conditions. This coming weekend sees racing return to the Broad for the three race back-to-back series, followed by Commodore’s Day at the Clubhouse.
