Hi everyone,
Whilst activities on the water have ceased for HSC, there’s been plenty happening off the water, with our annual Prizegiving and Officers Handover, planning for 2023 and much more. The main thing this weekend is a working party taking place from 10am tomorrow – please come and give a hand if you can, with more information in Peter’s report below.
Commodore’s Update
Last Saturday we had our Prizegiving & Officer Handover @ The Boathouse, Ormesby, a lovely venue & setting. The day started with attending the work party , then off to the Boathouse to prepare for the evening, with all the trophies being sorted & set up ready for the evening, my thanks to Adrian Tooke & the Fields family.
The evening started with the meal, where David Long - our sponsor for the Three Rivers Race - & his wife joined us for the evening. After a short break, with other members then attending, the awarding of the trophies took place with the Officer Handover, where Peter took up his role as Vice Commodore, with myself remaining Commodore for another year. My thanks to Belinda & her team for an excellent meal & service once again.
Peter & myself would like to hear from any member who feels they would like to join the team as Rear Commodore, please come & talk to us or give me a call.
The clocks went back, so with the evenings getting darker earlier please take care.
A reminder that boats on the Island should now have been removed unless sailing with Snowflakes, if you have any problems please contact me.
This weekend we remember all those who served in the armed forces in the various wars & conflicts.
I will be away with Abbey who is sailing at Draycote Reservoir Sailing Club with the ITCA East Team, then on Sunday afternoon attending the Past Commodores lunch.

Vice Commodore’s Clew
With Halloween and Bonfire Night now past, it is time to start preparing for Christmas, and that means Christmas Party. This is scheduled for Saturday 03 December this year and we will be making our plans for this in the next few days. The format will probably be as in previous years, with the party held in the Clubhouse from about 1700 onwards, and with the expected visit of Father Christmas to give out presents to all children under 16. We will need to know names of all children attending so they will have a personal present, and you can let us know who is attending via the email below. More details will follow shortly.
This Saturday is our next scheduled working party and if weather permits we will make a start on cutting back reeds over the river and round the river moorings. Finally, do not forget that Friday is Armistice Day with the 2 minute silence at 1100 to remember all who gave their lives in the many conflicts since 1914.

The deadline for Christmas orders is 5th December 2022. After this date pre Christmas delivery is on a best endeavours basis. This is the case for all HSC merchandise.
Purchase of club merchandise does support the club both via brand promotion and profit share.
HSC 200 Club
The 200 Club is run 52 weeks of the year. So for anyone who would like to join us our subs are £26.00 per annum or £6.50 per quarter, payable by standing order or direct credit/BAC. Please contact me for a list of numbers available. As usual we hold 4 draws a year with prize money totalling £320 per draw.
