Easter Weekend at Horning Sailing Club

Easter Weekend at Horning Sailing Club saw activity on the water on both Sunday and Monday, with racing on the Broad on Sunday, and a downriver race to Thurne on Easter Monday.
Sunday saw a fresh breeze resulting in lively racing, and a lot of capsizes amongst the dinghies! The Yeoman series resulted in three wins for James Pettit in Anaoh, with Martin Bulldeath (Norfolk Hawker) second. The dinghies had wins split amongst Karlina and Devon Bulldeath in their Toppers, with a Cruiser and Yare & Bure also racing.
The conditions were much smoother for Easter Mondays Downriver to Thurne, which attracted some five visiting Star Keelboats to participate. Starting from Horning Waterworks in the gentle breeze, the winds picked up nicely to provide pleasant sailing conditions. Amongst the Cruisers, both Peter Goshawk (Grayling) and George Brewis (Amantani) took a win on each leg, whilst amongst the Stars both Nick Eastwood (Jolly Good) and Andie Hallihan (Hooligan) took a first and second place each. The mixed Allcomers fleet saw a Rebel, Yeomans and Reedling compete, with Kevin Edwards (Rebel Maid) winning both legs.
